This year, the Loadstar Unity team attended the Cersaie trade show in Bologna for the second time. I’d like to note that it was noticeably easier for me to find my way around the huge exhibition complex.
The trip yielded new business contacts and meetings with our regular clients. We discussed rising shipping costs, alternative delivery routes, and supply planning in a changing environment.
I was particularly pleased to realize just how much our experience in transporting ceramic tiles contributes to these discussions. We’re already very familiar with many of the nuances of the product itself and its transportation through our daily work, so we can have substantive discussions with manufacturers and distributors about their challenges, constraints, and possible solutions.
There was also a lot of talk about the ceramic tile market itself: its saturation, competition, and the balance of Italian, Spanish, and Turkish manufacturers among the exhibitors. It’s interesting to compare impressions from the exhibition halls with how manufacturers and buyers themselves view the situation.
It was especially gratifying to see the booths of Ukrainian companies, their products, new developments, and the people who continue to work and build international connections despite the extremely challenging circumstances.
There were many new technologies, materials, and design solutions at Cersaie. At the same time, I noticed an increasing emphasis on coziness in the exhibits. I especially appreciate the opportunity at these exhibitions to talk, exchange opinions, and meet in person with people I usually communicate with over the phone or via email.
It’s exactly these kinds of encounters that I’d like to continue after the exhibition.
