The Challenge
Transporting oversized industrial machinery across Europe requires much more than finding the right truck. In this project, Loadstar Unity was entrusted with the delivery of oversized machinery from Germany to Romania, with several operational challenges that required precise planning and coordination.
Neither the loading site in Germany nor the unloading site in Romania had its own lifting equipment. This meant that cranes and specialised forklifts had to be arranged separately at both locations.
The key challenge was timing.
The trucks, lifting equipment and handling teams had to arrive within carefully coordinated time slots. Any delay could have resulted in expensive waiting time for cranes, specialised equipment and personnel.
There was another important requirement: cargo protection.
Part of the machinery contained sensitive electronic components and needed to remain fully protected from weather and external exposure throughout the journey.
Our Solution
After analysing the dimensions of the equipment and the available transport options, the Loadstar team selected MEGA trailers with extendable sides and roof.
The available extension capacity was sufficient for the dimensions of the machinery, allowing us to transport the cargo while keeping it fully covered and protected during transit.
The objective was simple but demanding: every element had to be in the right place at the right time.
The Result
The machinery was successfully loaded in Germany, transported to Romania and safely unloaded at its destination.
The carefully coordinated schedule helped avoid unnecessary waiting time for expensive lifting equipment and handling teams, while the selected trailer solution ensured the required protection for the sensitive machinery throughout transportation.
